TROUT LAKE RIDE
In late August fourteen members of the Kelowna ATV Club and one guest rider did a three day ride in the mountains around Trout Lake, BC. We stayed in Trout Lake. On the first day we rode up the McKinnon Creek trail to the Teddy Glacier Mine almost at the top of the mountain (it is hard to believe how far up these old mining roads go). The trail was rough and steep but what a view! On the second day we rode up the American Creek trail and many of the offshoot trails to various lookouts including one where we saw the old Silver Tray mine. On the third day we rode the Healy Creek trail to the alpine area above. This has to be one of the best trails in the Kootenays. Evenings were spent socializing back in Trout Lake. Thanks to the Revelstoke ATV Club who were in the area and gave us advice about trail conditions.
