TROUT LAKE RIDE
In early September twelve members of the Kelowna ATV Club did a three day ride in the mountains around Trout Lake, BC. We stayed in Trout Lake and went to a different destination every day. On the first day we rode the Healy Creek trail all the way up to the old Wagner mine (possibly the highest mine in Canada) and many of the offshoot trails in the alpine area. Thanks to the “Hairy Men” from Castlegar for fixing the trail across the big landslide area and to Don Hunt from Kaslo who was our guide. On the second day we rode the trail up Great Northern Mountain. It was a steep ride but worth it for the fantastic view. On the third day we rode up the “Ruda Beau” trail (south of Le Beau Creek) to the alpine area above. This too was a great outing. Evenings were spent socializing back in Trout Lake.
