In mid-August fourteen members of the Kelowna ATV Club did a three day ride in the mountains around Kaslo and Sandon, BC. We stayed in Kaslo and went to a different destination for every ride. Evenings were for a get together at the campground with a BBQ and spaghetti dinner as the headliners. On the first day we rode along the Old Wagon Road trail (maximum 50” in places) to the Buchanan Lookout and Milford Peak Trails. We had great weather and fantastic views. On the second day we rode west along the Old Wagon Road trail (again maximum 50” in places) and up the Eureka and Itica Mine roads. We took a day off in Kaslo and then did a ride from Sandon, up over Payne Mountain to the Antoine Basin. The part over Payne Mountain was new to us and was a very challenging trail. Thanks to Don Hunt of Kaslo for leading us on all three rides.
